Challenge

Sealink Travel Group is a publicly listed transport and tourism operator, delivering world-class customer service and brilliant holiday experiences for visitors and residents of Australia. Australia has always been a hot spot for tourism, but the devastating fires and floods of 2019 shook confidence in the market. The leadership of Sealink Travel realized that they needed to consider a strategic diversification while continuing to improve existing business results.

Sealink decided to address these issues by implementing a new, fully integrated marketing, sales and product analytics system, which would give the Firm a more accurate and timely view of its business. Leadership needed a real-time snapshot of everything from marketing campaign success to future bookings, sales by territory, and product pricing analysis. They also wanted a more holistic understanding of the firm’s total participation and market success to evaluate potential acquisitions more easily, as well as a standardized toolset to make future acquisitions seamless.

The new system needed to integrate market and financial information from a wide variety of internal and external data streams, some of which were commercial, and others, homegrown. Unlocking the power of this information required an easy-to-use analysis and visualization system supporting sales, marketing, finance, and business executives with data across geographies, clients, companies, and products without compromising data security. With a potential acquisition on the horizon, the leadership approached this project intending to preserve capital.

Solution

Kanerika experts designed and deployed a cloud-based, multi-tenant business intelligence system that enabled Sealink to leverage the platform’s distributed network access and elasticity for demand at a low capital cost.

Kanerika collected, normalized, and integrated disparate data streams, established data security down to the individual row, and provided Sealink with a visualization system that accommodated less skilled or ad hoc users.

The system enables both on-demand dashboard access to metrics like top-performing travel packages and high-grossing clients as well as regular report access for repetitive needs like month-over-month bookings and revenue growth.
